Our History
The Messias Church began in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Being parented by Haynes Chapel Church of God in Christ, The Messias Church's purposed that it would spread the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ through studying the Word of God, prayer, and fasting. In 2001, a group of devoted saints started to meet on Monday evenings at Mount Olive Lutheran Church located in Dallas, Texas. During these times of exploring God's Word, prayer became a strong component of the meeting. Because the Monday evenings were such joyous occasions, the twelve saints began to meet on Sunday afternoons. During the Sunday meetings, singing, dancing, tongue-talking, prophesying, laying on of hands, and preaching the Word of God became very common.
Although the meetings were rather informal, Elder Keith Ford, heard the voice of the Lord declaring that these meetings should be named. In response to the declaration, it was revealed that the meetings should be called The Messias Church of God in Christ because Jesus was at center of the attention. Though services were commencing in the fellowship hall of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, its' growth and unique name motivated a need to relocate. During latter 2001, The Messias Church moved to 10103 Garland Road, and was dedicated as a local assembly by the late Bishop J. N. Haynes, former Prelate of Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction. Although since Garland Road, we have been on a spiritual journey in building the Kingdom of God; we have not given up. Therefore, due to the persistence in ministry, prayer, and hard-work, on March 04, 2023, The Messias Church closed on the property and building located at 2628 South Ewing Avenue in Dallas. WE PRAISE our GOD because we are in the process of constructing our new sanctuary and community outreach facility. To view the model of our new sanctuary, please visit our "Homepage".

About our Pastor
We are grateful to have such a God-fearing servant leader! Elder Keith Ford is a native of Dallas, Texas. Growing up in South Dallas and the Dallas Oak Cliff area, at an early age he exuded a love for God and the Church. Often, he was viewed as being very seasoned before his time. This seasoning led Pastor Ford and some family members to visit Haynes Chapel Church of God in Christ where the late Bishop F. L. Haynes was pastor. During one of the spirit filled revival services at Haynes Chapel, Pastor was saved and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. From that time forward, Pastor was grateful for and loved the Church of God in Christ. Due to the love for God and His voice, Pastor Ford acknowledged his call to ministry and was licensed to preach the Word of God at Holy Cross COGIC where Elder Vernon R. Reed was pastor.
Upon graduating from Dallas' Skyline High School, Pastor Ford moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Wesleyan University. While at Wesleyan, again, Pastor became grateful for being mentored through another iconic experience. During those college years, Pastor Ford found grace and refuge in being mentored by the late Bishop J. L. Johnson and Greater Progressive COGIC. In essence, because of the childhood teachings, a love for God, and a respect for his examples of servant leadership, Pastor became engaged in striving to be the best version of a God fearing saint. For instance, Pastor Ford graduated from Texas Wesleyan University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Religion with a minor in English. Shortly, thereafter, Pastor was ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop James Neaul Haynes. Fifteen years afterwards, Pastor completed a Master of Education in Education Administration (M. Ed.) and EC-12 School Principal's certification from TWU in Denton, Texas. Ten years after completing the Master's program, Pastor Ford was admitted into the University of Texas at Arlington's Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program. In summary, presently, Pastor Ford is engaged in the program's dissertation culmination and is expected to defend his research in latter 2024! We are thankful to have such a hard-working, intelligent, committed, and saved/sanctified God-fearing leader.
